• 1956 - 1978: Selbstfahrer Union / interRent Autovermietung GmbH, most recently authorized signatory and head of the "international system department"
• Since 1970 responsible for the implementation of an international network for a total of 32 subsidiaries and licensees outside Germany
• 1978 - 1980: Managing Director Protectas GmbH & Co. (security company) with managerial responsibility also for Denmark and Austria
• 1980: retired from management career
• 1980 - 1996: Managing Director of the Patriotic Society from 1765 in Hamburg. In this role he arranged for the Johannes Brahms Society Intl, threatened with closure, to be intercepted. Vereinigung Hamburg and the Hamburger Telemann-Gesellschaft eV Assumption of changing board positions in both companies, in the Telemann-Gesellschaft eV also chairman until 1997 (including the Brockes Days 1997)
• 1996: retirement
• 1996 - 2006: living in France, briefly also President of the Association Franco-Allemande Roussillon
• In 2005 renewed engagement in the Hamburg Telemann Society as 1st chairman. After necessary reforms, from 2008 the company was geared towards the goal of creating a Telemann Museum Hamburg. Realization of the museum in May 2011.


As an honorary member of Hamburg Telemann Society eVErich Braun-Egidius sees his main task today as creating the financial basis for the long-term security of the museum, for example from the Telemann Foundation he initiated, of which he has been chairman of the board since its establishment in December 2013.
