Studied law at the Ruhr University in Bochum and at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen, dissertation on the subject of pre-trial detention and its alternatives, publications, among other things, in the areas of detention, medical law, European law and the rights of children and young people. Long-term collaboration in the institute for criminology at the university with Prof. Dr. Hans-Jürgen Kerner, in particular on issues relating to the penal system and criminal proceedings, substitute professor at two faculties at the University of Kassel (social affairs and economics), since 2014 professor of law in social work and cooperation with the Faculty of Applied Computer and Biosciences in the General and Digital forensics at the Mittweida University of Applied Sciences, member of the Prison Waldheim Advisory Board since 2015.
